Say hello to Chester the Chesterfield Sofa. This burgundy bastion of creative comfort is more than a couch. He’s our couch.
While Chester’s ambiguous birthplace has been identified only as a small factory just inside the limestone hills of Derbyshire County, England; Chester has called Strategic America home for more than 28 years. During that time, this cushioned citizen of the agency silently survived the Radio Jingle Fad of ‘87, the Fauxhawk Scare of ’04 and most devastating of all—the pea-green sofa craze of ‘93.
Chester has known good times as well. Abode to many a dignitary and plebeian’s bum, Chester has witnessed interns become Creative Directors, and Creative Directors belittle interns.
But with the plethora of posteriors that have ventured through SA over the years, one thing has remained constant. Chester. And with his nonchalant penchant for steadfast companionship, he has become one of our most prized possessions. Right up there with the popcorn machine.
Alas, the time has come for us to release him to you, the Internet fiends of the world, to tell his curious chronicles of creativity, ingenuity and sheer hullabaloo. So take a peak around, as Chester shares all he has seen at SA. Well, most of it.
When we’re not grilling out on a sticky July afternoon or giggling uncontrollably at some viral debauchery, we’re working hard to produce great advertising. And that’s why we love what we do. Because without the fun part, the great advertising can’t happen.
